Fundraising Volunteer

PAISLEY

FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER ( 3-6 months)

8 - 24 hours per week

All expenses paid 

We are looking for fundraising volunteer in our Paisley office to assist in raising awareness about the work we do and the people we support in order to improve their opportunities in the long term.

If you are an enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking individual looking to expand your experience in the events industry, this could be for you. Whether you are looking to break into the voluntary sector or a student looking for a placement – get involved in this opportunity to organise events.

Essential:

  • Outgoing, imaginative, enthusiastic, excellent communicator
  • A friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Ability to use own initiative

Desirable:

  • Skills in negotiation and the ability to persuade
  • Understanding of third sector and an awareness of disability issues
  • Previous experience in fundraising or organising events
  • Knowledge and understanding of ethical issues around fundraising

Role Description:

  • To identify and pursue ways of raising funds for Share
  • Planning and organising fundraising events
  • Seeking Sponsorship from companies and individuals
  • To take action to help secure funding e.g. talking to companies on the phone, speaking to schools or other groups
  • Acknowledging donations and thanking donors

**Female Waking Night Support Worker (22 hours)

Starting salary £15,895-£18,150* (pro-rata 39 hours)

*Progression to final salary scale is dependent on gaining SVQ3

We provide services for individuals with learning disabilities and a range of physical support needs at a number of sites in Edinburgh.  The type of support provided varies between services but supporting an individual to lead a full and as independent a life as possible is one of the key aims of Share Scotland.

We believe in building lasting relationships based on trust, honesty and respect, ensuring that people are supported to experience new opportunities, face new challenges, realize ambitions and grow as individuals.

Typical support activities include assisting individuals with household tasks, their finances, weely shop, maintain family contacts, hobbies and interests, completing service paperwork, and providing personal care as required.

No experience or formal qualifications are necessary as training will be given.

Support will be provided through regular 1:1 supervision and team meetings.

We are looking for support workers to work in our existing services in Edinburgh, where we support adults with significant support needs to live in their own home in the community.

Share Scotland's person centred approach allows people the freedom and support to actively pursue their chosen lifestyle within their own home and local community. Share's support offers choices and opportunities to people that may have been denied them in the past. A relevant qualification or experience in caring for someone with a learning disability would be desirable but not essential as long as you have the right personality and attitude. The training and continuous development you will gain with Share will make up for any skills gap.
