Fundraising Volunteer

PAISLEY

FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER ( 3-6 months)

8 - 24 hours per week

All expenses paid 

We are looking for fundraising volunteer in our Paisley office to assist in raising awareness about the work we do and the people we support in order to improve their opportunities in the long term.

If you are an enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking individual looking to expand your experience in the events industry, this could be for you. Whether you are looking to break into the voluntary sector or a student looking for a placement – get involved in this opportunity to organise events.

Essential:

  • Outgoing, imaginative, enthusiastic, excellent communicator
  • A friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Ability to use own initiative

Desirable:

  • Skills in negotiation and the ability to persuade
  • Understanding of third sector and an awareness of disability issues
  • Previous experience in fundraising or organising events
  • Knowledge and understanding of ethical issues around fundraising

Role Description:

  • To identify and pursue ways of raising funds for Share
  • Planning and organising fundraising events
  • Seeking Sponsorship from companies and individuals
  • To take action to help secure funding e.g. talking to companies on the phone, speaking to schools or other groups
  • Acknowledging donations and thanking donors

Transition Development Worker

Moving On Transition Service

Transition Development Worker (37.5 hours)

Starting salary £22,500 per annum (contract until end of project 31 July 2016) + contributory pension scheme

  • Can you communicate effectively with multi-agency involvement across different sectors?

SHARE Scotland, working in partnership with Cornerstone Community Care, are providing a Big Lottery Fund project called the Moving On Transition Service, based in West College Scotland - Clydebank campus and working with their students and pupils preparing to leave school in West Dunbartonshire who have additional support needs and are aged between 15-25 years.

We are seeking to recruit a development worker who shares our commitment to young people with additional support needs and their right to a say in their future.  This is an unique post within the organization.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent computer skills, verbal and written communication skills and have a solid educational background and be able to work flexibly; including some evenings, weekends and perhaps occasional residential stays.

Relief Support Workers

Glasgow/Edinburgh/West Dunbartonshire Area

Relief Support Workers (£7.82 hourly rate)

Sleepover payment of £28.70 per night as required.

We are looking to increase our pool of relief workers to cover for holidays and sickness within our projects in the Edinburgh area. We are looking for those who share our commitment to adults with significant support needs and their right to a say in their future.

SHARE's person-centred approach allows people the freedom and support to actively pursue their chosen lifestyle, within their own home and local community. SHARE's support offers choices and opportunities to people that may have been denied to them in the past. A relevant qualification or experience in caring for someone would be desirable but not essential as long as you have the right personality and attitude. The training and continuous development you will gain with SHARE will make up for any skills gap.
