The Management Team have built up a wealth of experience in providing support to individuals with profound and complex learning disabilities. their objective is always to involve the family in descisions about individual's future plans and where possible they provide the greatest choice to those individuals themselves.

Joe Whyte BSc (Hons.) B.Arch, CEO & MD |

An architect, formerly working in private practice, Joe has been
involved in the voluntary sector since 1990. As an employee of Enable
he helped develop their community residential programme for adults with
profound learning and physical disabilities, across Scotland, as part
of the major hospital closure programme.
He has worked with SHARE since 1999, and has been the Organization’s Chief Executive and Managing Director since 2002. |

Tom Gorrie, Finance Director |

The father of Carol Anne, who had profound learning disabilities caused
by a lack of oxygen at birth. Tom, with Dr Brian Venters was a founder
member of Share Scotland and a campaigner for care in the community for
those with profound and complex disabilities.
Tom is a Management Accountant who spent 35 years in the Scotch
Whisky industry with Allied Domecq and latterly as Head of Systems and
Logistics with Burn Stewart Distillers. |

Lynne Dignon, Regional Coordinator |

Lynne graduated with MA (Hons) in Psychology from Glasgow University in
1986. From 1987 until 1991, she worked in Surrey, initially as a
houseparent of girls who had severe neurological conditions, and then
as ‘Head of Care’ in a special needs girls’ school. She joined SHARE
Scotland in late 1991.
In the past few years, she has trained in hypnotherapy,
neuro-linguistic programming and solution focused therapy which have
contributed to her role as a senior manager and trainer. |

Kenny Stein, Regional Coordinator |

Kenny started his working life in 1979 as a Ward Orderly at Peel
Hospital, Galashiels. By 1982 he had trained and qualified as an
Enrolled Nurse (General). In 1992 Kenny left the NHS after qualifying
as a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (formerly known as RNMH).
Kenny worked for a company called ELCAP in East Lothian supporting
adult with learning disabilities living in the community. He started as
a Support Worker 1992 and eventually rose to the level of Area Manager
before leaving the company to work with Share in 2002. |

Dougie Reid, Regional Coordinator |

Dougie previously worked in Richmond Park School, Hampden School and at
Dalmarnock Adult Training Centre. He also did voluntary work with the
supported learning unit at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
Dougie joined Share in 1997 as a support worker and then managed
one of our Glasgow services. In 2005, he set up and managed a new
service in West Dunbartonshire and was then promoted to Regional
Co-ordinator in 2007.
He is now developing new services and is also currently involved in
a major project to assess the needs of young disabled adults in West
Dunbartonshire. |
